Milkdrinker (& Peece)

May I introduce Emdi?

I found her on campus at the beginning of the month. She was following a student and crying her head off; her mother was nowhere to be seen. Normally, I would do the whole watch and wait thing, but it was 115F/46C and I would've felt guilty leaving her behind. So I scooped her up and took her home in the taxi.

We took her to the vet, and she's healthy and due up for shots in two weeks. The vet thought she was about a month old and told me to feed her kitten formula. Oh, the fun! She's a greedy little thing and chewed the nipple off of the bottle. So I named her Milkdrinker (or MD or Emdi) because her face was always covered in milk.

The boy was none too thrilled to see her in the apartment. At first he hissed at her & ran away, but they're getting along better now. He even cleans her sometimes. She's always attacking and chasing him, so they scuffle a lot, especially at 3am and 6am.

Getting ready to pounce
She has taught him that if you cry long enough, someone will get up and feed you. Which is why I've slept in 0 of the 4 days that we've had off this weekend. She's adorable when she's tired or sleeping and a right pain in the butt when she's awake!

Lest you think I favor her over the boy, here are some pics of him being a cutie pie:

Guess who likes gummy bears??
I really appreciate how calm Peece is compared to Emdi. She loves to bite and generally be annoying, while Peece just wants food, some petting, and to be let outside.

Best Stitches & Wishes,

  1. Milkdrinker is adorable! I am glad you save her.

  2. Emdi is so cute! Congrats on the new addition. She will probably settle down when she gets older.
Too funny -- I never saw a cat eat gummy's.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and leave a comment! They make me happy :)
